First Blog Post
So this is it…my first post. I’ve been trying to get around to blogging for quite some time. For starters, I want to share what this blog will primarily be about – photos. That’s right! Another photo blog. Those are pretty common you say? Well, too late to turn back now!
The deeper I delve into learning the art of photography, the more I come to realize that the story behind a photo can almost be as important as the shot itself. Stories add depth, give you the photographer’s perspective and can bring to light something that might have been missed at first glance.
One of my favorite photo blogs to read is Proof by National Geographic. Hearing the photographers stories and the contextual background for pictures they post is often more inspiring than the photos (for me anyway). So, I guess that’s the whole point. I want to inspire people. To get up. To move. To do. To break out of their comfort zones and see the world. See it now while there are still beautiful places to see. See it now before you are physically unable to do so. Most of all, see it now to inspire others to do the same. If we get enough people to care about the beautiful things on this planet, then we all might work a bit harder to preserve them.
I’ll do my best to upload photos from my travels and post regularly. While on the road, this can be difficult from time to time. Especially remote, rural areas with spotty internet. Don’t be afraid to leave a comment. I love feedback – good and bad! Anything that helps me progress as a photographer or writer is welcome. I’ll wrap this up by saying thanks for beginning this journey with me. I hope you readers will grow and evolve along with the blog and myself, as travel so often causes one to do.
